A calculator can only be as accurate as the figures you give it. The formula may be applied correctly and the answer still be wrong for your business.
- Pack prices and pack sizes must match what you actually paid and received.
- Units must be selected correctly; grams entered as ounces will produce a confident wrong answer.
- Labor hours are routinely underestimated, especially decorating and cleanup time.
- Overhead defaults are starting points, not measurements of your kitchen.
Always sanity-check
Before quoting a customer, compare the result against your own experience and your local market. If a number looks surprising, it is worth finding out why rather than trusting it.
No guarantee of profitability
A suggested price is arithmetic, not a market forecast. Whether customers will pay it depends on your local competition, your reputation, the season, and factors no calculator can see. Nothing on this site guarantees sales, profit, or business success.
Food safety and regulation
These are costing and pricing tools only. They say nothing about whether your operation complies with the rules that apply to you. Home food business requirements, licensing, kitchen registration, allergen labelling, and insurance obligations vary by country, state, and locality, and they change. Check with your local food safety authority, and do not treat this site as confirmation that you are permitted to trade.
Tax
Nothing here accounts for sales tax, VAT, GST, income tax, or self-employment contributions unless you enter those figures yourself. Whether a price should include tax, and at what rate, depends on your jurisdiction and registration status. Speak to a tax professional.
